Oh, when I wandered aimlessly

Lord, You were faithful even still

In my weakness and earthly sorrow

Still my good remained Your will

Though I made my bed in Sheol

Even then, Lord, You were there

For Your love does not forsake me

To the depths of my despair

- - -

Godly sorrow leads to repentance

And sets my mind on things above

I will not fret amidst the trials

For You discipline all those You love

When temptation haunts me in the night

Steer me from its bitter sting

Hold me in Your everlasting arms

And in the shadow of Your wings

- - -

Lord, I will rest secured for

Your mighty hand is upon me

And I know Your love will see me through

until the day I am complete
