His Colors

He had to hide who he felt he was from all around.

Inside, only black darkness could be found.

He did all that he could to see the light.

But with all his struggles, he felt there was no hope in sight.

Black was the hollowness of his soul.

He felt so empty and less than half whole.

There had to be a way to get through the pain.

To hope that the blackness wouldn’t remain.

So he did what he felt he had to do.

Fear overwhelmed him mixing black and blue.

Across the table, he sat from me.

There was something there more than I could see.

He came out and told me he was now free inside.

He was living his life, and no longer could he hide.

I could tell that he was happier than ever before.

The black he had inside was not there anymore.

Colors spread throughout the sky.

Giving him the hope to continue to try.

Who he was finally shown.

He found a happiness that he should have always known.

He was different yet the same.

The colors of life came out of him with a flame.

I was grateful that he is happier now.

That the black darkness faded from him somehow.

And though I don’t know all that he went through.

He helped me to know all the colors inside him ever so true.
