Home.
We are taught is a physical place.
Though, could it be someone we long to embrace?
A child is supposed to feel comfort, warmth and love, rather was exposed to pain, fear, anger, all of the above.
Books will tell you there is "no place like home", so why do you feel so alone?
Look around, walls surround you.
Darkness hovers, the walls are caving in, nobody knows of the bruises on your skin.
A secure place never existed, arguments appeared and words were twisted.
You never knew of laughter, a smile was never worn. Memories haunted you, all of the pictures torn.
You ran away, your world was black; but like the plant that died you found your way back.
After every storm the sun appears; you found him to wipe away your tears.
As you looked in his eyes, a light finally shone.
You were right all along. . . a person could be your home.
