My true self

The calmness I show on the outside

When inside I’m a nervous wreck

How can I be seen so differently

To others, this calm put together woman

who just on the inside is a frighten mess

How can I be representing myself

So differently then what I’m showing on the outside

Is it my friendliness or thoughtful soul

That gives the vibe of wanting to make everyone feel safe around me

or, deep inside I’m the one who’s afraid and needs to be saved from myself

I really don’t know

Or, is it my up bringing of having to be perfect all the time

Not wanting to let anyone down but really I have

Myself

I can’t be who I really truly am

A free spirit who needs to be free
