Hiding in the Dark
There are certain groups, societies of mysteries,
With secrets shrouded, hidden under guise for centuries..
Their slogans and ceremonies kept secret from public view,
Their aims and purpose always kept from me and you.
Their gatherings, meeting places, where brethren unite,
To discuss affairs in secrecy during dark days and darker nights.
There are passwords and chants, exchanged in silence it’s said,
Where friendships are forged, and secrets kept until they are dead.
Their history shrouded in mystery and doubt,
Their aim is for the better but it’s nothing more than clout.
To foster imaginary love, relief of distress but division it creates,
Hoping to make things better, yet some members seek to escape.
So let them celebrate, this mysterious faction so dear,
For their good works, and their friendship isn’t so sincere.
Though their secrets and deeds may be kept from public view
When alone their hearts are open, and their illusion becomes true.
So let some toast those hiding in secret year after year,
For it, like other assemblies, an illusion it’s clear.
And if their works continue, and their unholy bond endure,
It’s not for the betterment of all mankind but for the separatists for sure.
So chant your chants, sign your signs, and hold your banner high,
As you continue the illusions convincing some it’ll get them by.
For some it may sound glorious, this way of the world’s clan,
But know this, when things are revealed, it’s an affront to man.

Whoaaa, this was so deep and certainly thought provoking. Loved your poem!
Year we should look in a deep mind about them.
Your exploration of the enigmatic and concealed nature of secret organizations is profoundly intriguing. The way you juxtapose their outwardly noble intentions with the underlying secrecy and potential divisiveness is thought-provoking. Your use of imagery and language effectively conveys the tension between appearance and reality. Thank you for sharing such a reflective piece.
this is truly amazing. sounds like you have captured the way of life lived by a "certain" organization that still lives on. VERY well done.
