Hideaway

A thought collection

A coral sky shines down

Grass soft to the touch

Tall enough to get lost in

Wind whispering,

A rhetoric of sorts

Posing an unanswered question

Time stands still

This moment locked in

So close you can almost taste it

Feel the earth beneath

So weak it takes you down with it

But not far enough to sink

It's in this place that fear does not exist

Nothing can touch you here,

Its cold grasp

Its haunted wail

The endless void in which it lives

Cannot reach where you standstill

Warmth is all around you

Enveloping,

Encasing,

For that's all it can do.

It cannot suffocate or retreat

The mind can't wander

If it's locked in here

Not a prison,

but an escape.

Hiding away doesn't have to be a bad thing

For beauty is in the immeasurable

It lays down and waits to be seen

This endless field

A given dream.

The wisps floating through fingertips

Serene

It screams,

This is home

There's nowhere else I'd rather be
