Don’t Seek

The echoes still remain

Of the words that caused me so much pain

No I am not insane

Yes I called you one too many times

You disappeared on me

I thought this was hide and seek

It was only supposed to be hiding

I broke the rules by seeking

A prey too easily caught

And a man who hates his prize

He swears he was hunted

While I am just haunted

By the arguments that linger on

Like smoke in the walls of an old house

Or a building on the edge of foreclosure

Its just like a demolition that had been stopped

Halfway through the process

heartbreak

About the Creator

Lisa Pulliam

I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.
