Here’s to My 20s

For as long as I can remember

I imagined my twenties to be my success years.

Full of abundant joy.

Financially stable.

Living my American dream.

I’m far beyond a dream.

My twenties have made me question

Whether a college degree is worth it

Or if following my dreams is foolish.

Constantly hearing the words

Unqualified, young, adult.

Fighting to be heard

Over all the noise.

The self doubt that’s screams within me

Will I ever be enough?

Insecure about how I look

Comparison is my biggest enemy.

So to my twenties I say,

Breathe, it’s going to be okay.
