Her Two Sides

A Poem

Driving forward, forever in her memory

A pensive reflection of time

Destiny interrupts eternally

She keeps walking the line

Preserving her identity in the shadows

Keeping herself under her wing

Hiding to avoid the harrows

Of somebody else’s sin.

Digging deeper from within

She took it all upon herself

A hopeless rebirth to begin

A new existence without help

She considered defeat

But that wasn’t her way

She attempted deceit

But that ended the day.

Not satisfied with hiding

She revealed her pain

It was a wave she was riding

A life lived in vain

Overconfident and villainous

Taking her stride

She was oblivious

To her two sides.

Life with a double edge

Hiding her truth

Her two sides wedged

Her sin is proof

Of the lies she told

Forgetting the memory

Life was on hold

She was her own worst enemy.
