her shadow

the glamour of her mask

She shimmers and shines

And blinds her prey

She shimmers and shines

And digs my grave

She shimmers and shines

And takes the sun away

Her smile is meant to stun

Her voice is meant to lure

You're all enchanted, enthralled, bewitched

And I'm just dying behind the curtain

She's glowing and gleaming and spinning

You're clapping and cooing and clueless

She's dazzling and you're staring

And I'm just dying behind the curtain

She swapped me with a corpse

And nobody spotted the difference

She stopped wearing gloves and

Nobody pointed out the crimson

Painting her palms

The walls are closing in but

None of you care if you're crushed

She drowned me in darkness and smiled for the camera

She wore a mask and you called it a halo

She locked me in a safe and

You helped sink it

I was trying to breathe

You were trying to buy tickets to her show

Oh is her glitter worth more than my blood?

Is her blade more impressive than my wound?

Is her mask more glamourous than my open book?

I guess her lullabies are easier to hear

Than my confessions are to stomach

I guess her smile is easier to look at

Than my tears are to hold

I died on her shores and

You all just praised her waves

Author's Note: This has nothing to do with my current life. I was just channeling my past emotions for a book I'm planning :)
