There she stood so regal and serene

Stirring in her wake a lake full of guppies

So eager for her to pick them as her prey

Worthless guppies, don’t they know they’re at the bottom of my food chain?

She thinks…

Yet, she still walks slowly towards the water looking over them

Occasionally, picking one up and placing into her mouth

If only for a second.

The guppie of choice is in a state of intoxication

So much of her love drug that a coma is induced

His friends start to reconsider if she's as good as she looks

Is it worth dying for?

The new phrase.

She. Still looking plotting on her next victim

Even though she knows they would never get everything she has to offer

She’s the daughter of a king, but her mother was his mistress

No one knew of this injustice

She oozes a natural aura of hierarchy that muggles cannot help but perceive

Yet, she never feels adequate enough .. even with the blood of a king flowing through her veins

What good are royalty and prestige if I will constantly be under observation?

No personal space, no room for mistakes.

My mother was a mistress for God’s sake.

The serpent is the only one to hear her cries, everyone else so transfixed by her eyes

Big and beautiful. But hiding behind them are so many lies.

Secrets.. her life full of them

From coverups to half-truths.

Who can I trust?

All these people think about is money, deceit, and lust.

So fragile within but can never show that side

“You must not show them you can be weak,” her father says, “royal women don’t cry”

The serpent sees a tear roll down, and with a reluctant sigh

tries to console the princess's pain inside

You're too beautiful to cry, he says.

Shocked Her tears go back where they usually hide.

No snakes should see you weak, they are the master of disguise.

She thought she was alone while battling her troubled mind.

“I won't hurt you,

I see someone already has.

I just hate to see the future

queen dwell on her troubled past.

Never think your past should be shamed

for without it anyone can wear your name”
