In the dead of night, when the world is still,

A girl awoke, with a heart that would not still,

Her mind reeling, from a dream so dark,

Where a black figure, left its haunting mark.

She had run and run, with a desperate pace,

But the entity caught her, in a tight embrace.

She struggled and fought, with all her might,

But the figure held her, in an iron tight,

She screamed and cried, with a voice so shrill,

But the darkness swallowed, her pleas to still.

And just as she thought, all hope was lost,

She made a choice, to face the figure's cost.

With a deep breath, she turned to face,

The entity that held her, in its dark embrace,

But as she looked, the figure faded away,

And she found herself, in her bed to stay.

She sat up straight, with a gasp of air,

Her heart pounding, in a wild despair.

The night was still, and the moon shone bright,

As she tried to make sense, of her dream's fright,

Was it real, or just a figment of her mind?

Had she truly slept, or was she left behind?

She pondered long, as the hours ticked by,

And the sun rose high, in the morning sky.

And when she opened her eyes, once more,

She found herself, back in her own door,

The dream, the fear, just a distant hum,

A memory, or just a fleeting whim?

She wondered still, as the day wore on,

If her journey, was just a passing song
