Do you feel the pull from within your guts

It drags you back to the place from which you escaped

There is no possible reason to return, short of being nuts

To escape from one's hells is an accomplishment, indeed

It holds us to our nightmares, grasping at us from within

Our hells creep into our waking thoughts, hoping they'd win and we concede

But not alone in such hells are we

We only need to muster up the strength

And grab hold of the hand before us, trying to get us free

Once done, there's a new day for us to begin

But by not giving up, one can aspire to use their chances

And certainly, with some luck and support, this battle is one that you can win

Sometimes, despite the folly of their ways

Despite their shortcomings in this thing called life

Having them there is what ultimately pays

Get up and be seen again, my friend

You're loved more than you know

We're waiting for what's still possible in the end
