Hello There

A Poem

By Irene ProudmanPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Hello there

Do you care

How others fare

If so, you’re rare

People often glare

If you have a dramatic flare

They growl like a bear

In a group or in a pair

And they catch you in a snare

Where you can’t get enough air

So you sit in a chair

Hiding for e’er

Pulling out your hair

Thinking how it’s human to err

Telling people to beware

But “I don’t care” they declare

The go elsewhere

So you’re left in this nightmare

In the middle of somewhere

(It’s just left of nowhere)

Wishing your life could be repaired

So you aren’t the round peg when the hole’s square

And people would care for your welfare

But you’re alone, solitaire,

In a game of warfare

Where everything’s unfair

Because you’re abnormal; rare.
