The dance between light and darkness in eclipse

Enshrouded by ethereal complexity, the Sun disappears. Quiet reigns.

Conspicuously lost behind the Moon, oh, mighty Helios!

Light-beckoning beauty, unadorned illusion, dreams, protruding wildly,

Infused with heat and terrible storms, completely hidden from our vision,

Panting high, the Sun salutes the darkness, rising high above, slowly now,

Selenar beauty, master of our galaxy supreme, energetic force and soul,

Emerges victorious again, uneclipsed and powerful beyond measure.

Author's note:

I have always been in awe when witnessing a solar eclipse. The one I remember clearly was the full eclipse of 2011. It was August and I was fully prepared for the cosmic phenomenon, even though I witnessed it from the airport. Through this poem, I invite you to contemplate the interplay of light and darkness, the power and resilience symbolized by the Sun or Helios in Greek Mythology, as part of the vast expanse of our universe.
