Heavy hangs the weary heart

Burdened, seeking. Hopeful. Out of order.

Today, trouble hides behind every shadowy brush,

behind every corner and every willing tree

which lends itself to any soul in need

My heart is sorely pained

And I am left to wonder

When the burdened soul seeks solace,

and rising from the mire seems impossible

when life feels heavy and joy is like a distant dream,

even in the darkest moments, can light find a way through.

Where can the hopeful dreams we once dreamt be found

When empty hands are raised in supplication and hope

will the answer come, will it bring the balm for the soul

Sometimes it’s to be found in the smallest things---

a kind word, a familiar melody,

or the quiet strength of simply carrying on.

Rising is always possible...

if we just listen keenly for when illumination beckons..

When shadows stretch and sorrows weigh,

and dawn feels lost in endless gray...

A whisper stirs, so faint, so light,

A promise breaking through the night.

Though heavy hangs the weary heart,

though dreams seem torn, worlds apart -

hope resides in quiet grace,

a spark, a flame, a warm embrace.

So rise, dear soul, though weak, though worn-

though tangled storms bring nights forlorn.

Joy is not a distant star, it blooms within---

right where you are.

Golden rays still dance,

laughter floats on summer winds,

May joy now bloom in every heart.
