Heartful

2/25/22

I left my heart in a lake,

You were to hard to face,

My soul from my body you took,

But your heart too hard to take,

And now I’m just stuck with my words,

Too easy to look at your face,

Left you behind that’s okay,

Betterment with better ways,

I feel the waves going through my body,

Aches pains growing from your devilish ways,

Using people to feel okay,

Teach me your nonchalant ways,

No feelings at the end of the day,

You see a heart and you play,

Through the heart with a stake,

Then you threw it in my face,

You played victim,

You wanted to wait,

But I saw through it,

Had to get you out of my way,

Yours devilish ways,

I knew it would blow up in your face,

You’re taking the pills laced,

New clothes all laced,

Lingerie all laced,

You played my heart got an ace,

Full house,

Back then I should’ve pulled out,

Now I have to deal with the roundabouts,

Of fixing my mind to heal better now,

But I doubt that this will pan out.
