Heart Wrenching

Sometimes we're more monstrous than the natural born monsters.

What does it mean to give?

What does it mean to live?

We all have the power of life.

To create and to destroy, to bless or to cause strife.

Sometimes the burden of life is a painstaking gift.

Even once it's gone the burden will not easily lift.

As worse parts of us come out, as if to easily sift.

Life can be given and taken... it can be swift.

For this story it's a bit of fanfiction.

I wonder if You can make a prediction.

Though the tale is not as tall.

The tail in this story is rather small.

The words I wrote have wrenched my heart.

To put them on paper, I've done my part.

As beings we've always decided what others are worth.

Whether they're humane or monsters, decided from birth.
