a satire

So anyway, say—what was that?

You say that it’s a heart attack?

Well, let me write you in at three.

That should be enough time for me.

You say come now? Well, sorry son,

If you want help, from anyone,

You’d better wait just leisurely,

And we’ll come help you presently.

What? Hello? What did you say?

I’m sorry, guess you’ll have to pay.

You got another quarter, son?

Try calling back, and I’ll reason.

Hello? Why yes. Expecting you…

You found the quarter. Great! What’s new?

Yes, I’ll be over, a minute or two.

With medicaid and medicare,

You can’t expect for me to care.

Hello? Can’t understand you. Where?

You there? Can I come over there?

Well, yes, I think it’s time I go.

I’m on my way. Good-bye….hello?

I guess I lost you. Never mind.

I guess I’ll just stay here and grind.

Another day, another check;

Just have to keep my hours met.
