Healing

A poem

By Sarah AlsayedPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

The heart sinks in sadness,

For the soil becomes cracked and silent,

planting goodness and love,

Harvesting hurt instead.

Yet in the depths of despair,

I search for glimmers of light,

Collecting flowers and herbs,

Dry sticks, shells, and leaves in sight.

With every thread I pull and weave,

And every color I arrange,

Shaping sorrow into beauty,

Finding peace in what I change.

And slowly, the world begins to glow,

In every petal, every leaf,

I start to see the light again,

And in it, find my quiet relief.
