Healed

I used to wake up crying every single day,

There would be no smiling,

Life was lived in an endless dark tunnel,

I was forever sinking.

Now, the sun is shining,

And my shoulders no longer carry the weight

of my dark past;

I spent decades working on my healing,

Decades in and out of hospitals,

And decades stuck in a cycle of depression and

trauma.

I know that this isn't easy,

Mental health makes the heart heavy.

To anyone who is suffering,

I spent all my childhood and most of

my adulthood in a decade of clouds,

That never stopped raining.

And today?

I have healed,

And you can too.

Don't let them fool you,

This is not forever;

Find your journey,

And the sun will light your way,

To the paths of new beginnings.
