He Was a Good Man
So kind yes he was the good man

He Was a Good Man
He never needed riches just to prove his worth,
He carried quiet kindness from the moment of his birth,
He’d stop to help a stranger when nobody else would stay,
And somehow made the darkest room feel brighter in the day.
He never spoke of goodness, he just lived it every day,
He knew a gentle action could say more than words could say,
He didn’t need a crown upon his head to understand,
That being there for someone is the making of a man.
He’d listen when you talked, even when the words were hard,
He’d notice when you smiled but know when you were scarred,
He never judged a broken heart for taking time to mend,
He simply stood beside you, like a lover and a friend.
The world can make you cynical and teach you not to care,
But he still found compassion when there wasn’t much to spare,
He proved that being gentle isn’t something you should hide,
For kindness can be stronger than the anger held inside.
He didn’t have perfection, no, he stumbled like us all,
But when he made mistakes, he had the courage to recall,
That being good means knowing when you’ve caused somebody pain,
And finding strength to say I’m sorry, then not do it again.
Some men leave behind their names, some leave behind their gold,
But he left little pieces of his kindness to be told,
In memories of laughter and the hands that he had helped,
His goodness lives in places where his kindness once was felt.
He never needed applause, nor strangers singing praise,
He simply lived his life through all his ordinary days,
And those who truly knew him knew the treasure they had found,
For goodness doesn’t shout — sometimes it makes no sound.
So if you ever meet a man whose heart is truly kind,
Don’t measure him by money or by what the world might find,
For diamonds may lose sparkle and fortunes disappear,
But goodness stays forever in the hearts that hold it near.
And when his journey’s over and the years have passed him by,
His name will still mean something underneath another sky,
For he never had to conquer kingdoms, riches, land or sand,
He simply lived with kindness — and he was a good man.
