He rolled over

and took all my cover

Not nice it took forever

lots of time to recover

~

Hiding behind you

was easy to do

until it wasn't

and it doesn't

make sense

and cost me no cents

~

Out on my own

and all alone

big bad scary

oftentimes hairy

~

I can do this now

years of time will show

me just how far I can go

and just who I can follow

~

I will do this on my own

Nothing too scary to overcome

I will get help, I am a grown

woman and I do come

from a strong people

~

No more seeing no evil

or hearing no evil

or speaking no evil

~

It is facing the world with eyes open

Listening to what is being said

and speaking up when I have

something to say

~

Don't worry, here I come world

It's been a great time. I've grown

to be okay, out on my own!

Authors Note: My current husband rolled over and took all my covers and I thought, I can write about this. Then I connected it with me back about 50 years ago😉🙂💕
