He left me with wounds I couldn't speak of

He used me , then left me

~

My memory is a soft animal, easily frightened and prone to hiding behind curtains.

Mine hides behind 2 am, at a park where it's a globe of stillness.

I remember crying after

Not the kind you recall-

Not a soft call, or cinematic

It was sharp. Tangible

Visceral

Like teeth on skin

"You okay?" He gets off me

He looked at me like I was somewhere far away.

I didn't answer. I couldn't-

I froze.

I couldn't move my arm, my leg, my head, or even my breath.

We lay there a while, in the middle of the oval-

The world is a ring around us...

We just had sex

I wouldn't call it that in my head though...

My body hadn't said yes.

"You good?" Again.

Like the world still hadn't ended.

I close my eyes

His figure is imprinted into the darkness

I keep seeing something, not black-

But a blackness with shape... a creature with no name

It followed me down~

I open my eyes

It is 5 am

He was gone

Like a magician's coin

I curl into myself

The sky above me was bruising into morning

The park was hollow...

He left me.

With wounds I couldn't speak of...

When I try to remember before I closed my eyes

My mind switches off

Like it, too, wants to disappear~

He used me, then left me...
