He Hides Inside My Mirror
Soon I will belong to him

He Hides Inside My Mirror
He waits within the silver glass
a shadow breathing slow and deep
his hands pressed flat against the pane
his eyes too dark for me to meet
The room is silent when he stirs
the air grows heavy in my chest
I dare not move or turn away
he knows my name, he knows the rest
His lips do not belong to man
they twist with secrets never told
each time I blink he leans in close
his hunger clawing through the cold
The mirror hums, it will not sleep
its surface ripples like a pool
I feel his grip upon my wrist
his pull is patient, sharp and cruel
One day my strength will slip and fade
his mouth will open, mine will close
he hides inside my mirror still
and waits to drag me where he goes
The mirror grins, it knows the time
when I am weak it will begin
no prayer, no light can keep me safe
he waits to drag my soul within.
