He Doesn't Just Crow At Dawn!
Morning, night, or mid-afternoon French Fry will serenade you with his favorite tune.
The rooster throws his head back
Eliciting another crow
You silly boy! It’s no longer morning.
Don’t you know?
He scales to the pitch of the garage
Tossing his head back once more
I can already see, what this day holds in store.
This crazy little critter…
Oh how he crows through the day
Chasing around hens five times his size
Always puffing himself up,
Strutting around the barnyard like he’s the ultimate prize.
Silly boy, please.
I watch helplessly
As he flies once again
Thudding against the barn.
No way he’ll ever reach the roof
But I can’t seem to convince him of that.
He’s such a tiny little goof!
I’m certain he should’ve been featured as a Looney Tune
The way he carries on whether it’s morning, night or midafternoon!
Yet he’s only built for Tiny Toons,
Adventures he has aplenty.
But what can I do?
He’s got the crowing capacity of twenty!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed meeting our Bantam rooster, French Fry. He is a comical little fella that is always up to something! One day a few months ago, when he was still he’d been following me around, crowing his tiny head off. I referred to him as small fry and my five year old began calling him French Fry (thinking that’s what I’d named him). The name kind of stuck as he prances around, proud as a peacock, showing off his golden French Fry colored feathers. Preening and crowing to whoever will listen. Even his best buddy, Foghorn (shown in the photos above), who as a chick was louder than some of my larger roos, often looks at him in astonishment. As if to say, are you seriously crowing AGAIN? Needless to say, this guy keeps us pretty entertained!
