He Always Dances

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

In the cool Fall beauty, the White House stands,

Echoing fairness and truth in all the land

Yet a figure looms, with unfettered designs,

To tear it down and drown out honor’s cries.

With hammer’s swing and his follower’s cheers,

He dreams of a ballroom to drown out his fear.

Where chandeliers sparkle and laughter rings,

A stage for the dance, and all that it brings.

Oh, how he twirls in his cheap gilded glow,

Hiding from the truth in the ebb and flow.

Each step, a misstep, around the core,

In a hall of mirrors, forevermore.

He builds his empire dancing on stories he’s spun,

With his clumsy rhythms of glory, the truth’s on the run.

For in his grand ballroom, the reality takes flight,

Enshrouded in sparkle, veiled from the light

His toxic entitlement takes its stance,

He’s forgotten he was elected to work, not to dance.

He always dances.
