Have You Seen It?

A journey home

By Gary StithPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Have you seen it?

From nearby, till far and wide

From the mountain tops to depths of the ocean

I search

I found many, discovering life anew

In endless cycles of love and hate

I feel tired and worn

From this journey alone

Sometimes I wonder why home evades me

Is it not worth my love?

Am I not worth its love?

Why does it hide?

Does it not want to be found?

So I search and search

day by day

I know more

I know less

Every time I get close

it slips away,

In love with the ideal

Separated from its source

So I continue on

Praying for an end

Looking for peace

Looking for home

Until I wonder,

Have I been led astray?

Whose path am I on?

And why did I begin?

I ponder only to discover the source of my agony

is the question,

the question of home?

Where it was

What it looked like

With whom I shared this space with

but it was the question that made me forget

It was the idea of the search

that lead me astray

and in this fallacy, I failed to realize

I was home

So have you seen it? Have you finally gone home?
