Have you ever had to say goodbye?

Have you ever had to say goodbye but deep down a voice was screaming, 'Don't go, stay, I need you'?

.

Yes, I screamed, "Stay, don't go, I need you."

You were my light, my savior, my safe haven.

The moment I said goodbye, my soul shattered, my heart crumbled, and my mind went blank.

Everything I saw reminded me of you, everything I did reminded me of you. Those tears I hadn't shed thanks to you now fell for you.

I don't blame you, I just miss you. You were my light, that light that pulled me from the darkness of my nightmares, that guide who held out a hand so I wouldn't fall into the abyss of my fears.

You were my brother, my friend, my companion. I wasn't in love with you; that would be a sin.

You were that brother I always wanted, that friend I always needed, that companion who ended my loneliness.

I wonder if he hates me, after all you did for me and all the pain I caused you.

I'm sorry for everything.
