Harvest Time

Staring at my garden, I see the roots and vegetables.

They are ready to be collected.

I slip on my green gloves and dirt-covered boots.

I open the white picket gate and step into my garden.

My knees create indents in the Earth as I kneel.

I grab my special shears and begin cutting.

One by one, each root and vegetable finds its way into my basket.

Carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, onions, and so forth.

I smile down at my harvest.

These will make good meals.
