Hard times continue

Take a seat

Shouldn't we be first

Should we be last ?

We come in so many shapes and shades

We are smart I mean the genius type

We are hard workers not lazy

Come get to know me you would be surprised

The lies are not the truth

We love just like everyone else

We bleed the same

We want a fair shake

We want our American Pie

Stop denying the truth

The world has seen what is done in dark

finally come to light

So many generations fighting for the same thing

The right to be free and live where we want

Why do we have to check to see how many of us

are in a city before we move because we know

you will try to make us disappear without a trace

but the younger generations are getting wiser

and realizing the lies and the books don't tell it all

they listen to our music and see our movies

the internet can be a wonderful thing if you let it

we want more than our ancestors had

you don't get to decide how big my slice of pie is

just get on the bus and take your seat don't

expect me to be in back unless I want to

I will be in the front and look you in the eye

so you know it's me and I might even

say Hi!
