Happy is the Poor Man

Mt 5:3-12

By Jesse LeePublished 4 months ago • 1 min read

Happy is the poor man on the corner who begs. His life is satisfied with simple purpose.

When he cries, it is not for himself, but for all who struggle like him. His demeanor is one of empathy and hope.

He is mild, not weak, and his humility makes him good company, with little to give but a smile to share.

He is a society that cares, and despite his limited means, he’d never cause harm to satisfy his own greed.

His generosity glows within him and casts warmth on the humble creatures that take protection and comfort in his care.

His clothes are dull and his hair askew, but his eyes reflect a pure heart that sees God better than me or you.

His nature brings peace wherever he goes, but if he is unwanted, he simply takes it back on the road.

He doesn’t focus on what you think. He cares more about the opinion of God. And when he sits in splendor beside Him, he will make a perfect judge.
