Happiness is Within

Pink Golden Light

By Mary HollandPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

There is no other side

of the rainbow,

You Dorothy astronaut.

Happiness cannot be found,

or bought.

It is not found at the end of a gilded path of gold,

Young and wishing you were old.

Troubles do not disipate

Because

of rose colored glasses

or ruby shoes.

While green and full of bloom,

Were not you the one who expected happiness from love?

Hearts pounding, burning, yearning

full of love and doom.

Love, love, love

Now blue and melancholy,

Then green with envy

You expect too much out of love.

If only I said this, or if only I said that.

Love should not be so fleeting

Hearts pounding, burning bleeding.

In the golden pink light of sun down,

Deep breath, closed eyes.

I am all I need

Clicked heels of red, it was always so.

Breathe in, breathe out

I was always

Enough.

Breathe in, Breathe out

Happiness is within.
