Happenings Everywhere
A poem about todays world.
A set of screams at the dinner table
The world's hurt and pain being spread
Fingers pointing from the angry and unstable
Missing the point of getting together and breaking bread
No talking nor listening, not anymore
It goes on for hours
It goes on until someone hits the door
Among them they argue, and it's all beyond their powers

It's been this way for so long that it doesn't even feel like it's wrong
No escaping from the events and the horrible news of our day
Then strangers arrive to check, you know when you hear the bell gong
Stand there silently, you don't begin to know what to say
Hidden faces, hiding behind hands in shame
Nobody admits what it's about
Don't tell them it's about he who shall not be named
Don't blink until the coppers show themselves out
The sun sets on your chance at a decent end
And you realize your in a trap
A ruined dinner with family and friend
Ruined because of all that political crap
