Halloween at Your Door
A poem about the horrors of Halloween
Halloween at your door
with trickle treating
upon us
once more.
Mini bodies like
hairy goblins,
monsters and evil
wobbles on the walk.
The livid doves of wintry
paleness on your street
come to haggle
for a sweet.
Baby faces turned
Frankenstein.
Come for the feasting
of toffee apples
and swills of lushing
trickling spices.
Whispering little monstrous
bodies, lurking at your door,
gathering pumpkins
and bowls of bristling
marshmallows, sugary
moistening and sprinkling
of joyous wonder
nestling tasting
on your tongue.
Those little mites, dressed as
Dracula, zombies, deathly
monster beings and
witchy witches, waggling
their broomsticks along the walk.
Whilst red raw cheeks on
mini painted faces
with amusing smiles,
spooky chuckling darlings
as dark roads
swarm with little kiddies
roaming along to
grab
their rush of
trickle treats.
