During the Small Heat Challenge, a Vocal-Media challenge of Haiku's—I submitted sixteen poems. I compiled my favorites from the sixteen I had submitted. I really enjoyed these haiku challenges and thought I would share my favorites to those who like the haiku form in one easy to find place. It was a lot of work for the Vocal team as so many submissions must of kept them busy for a long time. I look forward to the return of the haiku. One nice thing about compiling them together is they were written on a prompt and gel when read in sequence.

a sharp coil of scent

an ember, a lucky strike

cupped tight from the wind

single cut flower

warmed with its own breath hangs free

ghost feet within reach

warm water, a bowl

I did not become the bowl

the surface within

shy smiles I redden

blushing on the edges of

a flowering pith

condensation forms

skin of a fresh red apple

I’m just not this one

thin scent of pollen

something much bigger than hope

swaying clear ethos

wolf poets, a herd

Kuroshio driving warmth

minnows minnowing
