Guide of My Life

A Poem

The guide of my life

When I tend to lose sight

Of the mission at hand,

Beyond the conformed ways

Of modern man

Although,

Im not better than

Nor do i choose to be,

This path that you bestowed

Designed for me exclusively

You're aware of my mistakes

Still love me unconditional,

As I traverse through the wilderness

In search of an imaginary bliss

Or something of the sort

But I'm blessed abundantly,

Often times

I want to abort

You're there to comfort me

From the darkness I yearn to grasp,

When it seems I'm not destined

For the desire i long to have

I dont have what most would seem

To be the equivalent

Of their expectation

To somewhat validate my entrance

So it's better to say nothing

because what's the point

I'm thinking,

Over analyzing

And end up

burning many bridges

I won't dub myself a king

There's someone that's better suited

They have everything you could want

Vanity included

I'm just a man with a heart

But having a heart is a weakness,

When everyone is hard

So, hardly never speaking

They must have something to prove

To the rest of the crowd
