I’m a guerrilla soldier, I must shoot the enemy dead, dead, dead.
I’m a guerrilla soldier, I must collect their head, head head.
I’m a guerrilla soldier, they don’t call me Fred, Fred, Fred.
Instead they gave me a number so I won’t be a deserter like those who fled, fled, fled.
When I shoot the enemy their blood runs red, red, red.
They told me our cause was justified, that’s what the government said, said, said.
They said the enemy was dangerous and we needed to kill them to be fed, fed, fed.
But the enemy leaders told them the same and added their soldiers would get fame, fame, fame.
They told us we’d be stars, even in the grave, grave, grave.
Today we saw each other and shot each other dead, dead, dead.
They sent us home in a box, box, box.
We thought we died with honor, but if everyone is dead, who really won the war, war, war?

"They said the enemy was dangerous and we needed to kill them to be fed, fed, fed. But the enemy leaders told them the same and added their soldiers would get fame, fame, fame." I likes these lines.
I love this, the echoes are really effective 😁
Goes for the jugular, this one! I was recently reading about 'Echo' poetry. I like how you constructed yours, Alex.
Your question at the end was a gut punch! Loved your poem so much!
I agree with "Well done" and "very, very, very good question"!😊💕
