a downfall unlike no others

Grief in this world

Sounds like hell

The emptiness

Reflecting the naked eye

Like a mirror

So perfect but hollow

Grief in this world

Is what kills one inside

Over and over

And over and over

A deadly cycle that never stops

Grief in this world

Are the anguished cries

In the graveyards at funerals

Cries that sing in heartbreak

And eternal melodies of pain

Grief in this world

Is the weapon against happiness

Destroying everything in sight

The forced smiles of foolish humans

Are masks hiding the pain

Grief in this world

Can shut a crazy man up

His happiness while drunk

Shows the true loneliness beneath

He fades away in grief

Grief in this world

Like the dance of death

So out of touch

So broken and hurting

Is the grief in this world
