Gremlins In My Blood

I feel them crawling under my skin

Gremlins In My Blood

Something wicked lives beneath my skin

Tiny monsters feeding through my veins

Laughing softly every time I grin

Growing stronger from my hidden pains

They crawl through arteries late at night

Gnawing holes where peace once stayed

Turning healthy days to endless fights

While colour slowly starts to fade

Doctors search beneath fluorescent light

Testing samples cold as stone

Still these gremlins stay out of sight

Making my body feel unknown

I feel them scratching through my bones

Rusting strength I used to own

Turning flesh to brittle tones

Leaving weakness fully grown

My blood once moved like raging fire

Now it crawls like poisoned rain

Every breath feels harder to acquire

Each heartbeat stitched with pain

They feast upon exhausted sleep

Planting sickness in my chest

Promises my body cannot keep

Destroying every chance to rest

Friends cannot see what lives inside

Invisible creatures rule my days

So I bury suffering beneath my pride

And stumble through this endless haze

Still the gremlins dance beneath my skin

Mocking every prayer I send above

A brutal war I’ll never truly win

Fought inside the blood I once loved

And though this body slowly breaks

I refuse to disappear unseen

Even while the darkness wakes

Inside this dying bloodstream
