Greener Grass

Ode to the other side

Greener Grass. I’ve seen it pass, but does it last once the high wears off?

A comfortable band aid you tear off after you’ve gotten use to it.

The honeymoon phase had it’s time, but now your rose colored lens is a lime.

Sour because in the beginning you felt the power.

But what can you feel now that the world is real now?

Does it still tickle your flesh. Are you filled with content?

Did the other side of the fence really make a dent?

You thought it would make you better. Are you still a believer?

Or has the other side taught you that the grass isn’t always greener.
