Gravy

Don't make white noise.

Rubricate, rubricate,

Rubricate the thresholds

Lubricate, detonate

Their iron pyrite, counterfeit gold.

Flash the edutainment,

They’ll need the blithe

Padlock them in the basement,

Cache their bug spray

They must learn to survive

The proper way

Earthquake, earthquake,

Watch the earth shake;

Watch basic biology dissipate

Quick, grab the electrical tape

And morphine diacetate

Don’t ask what they’re for

Who will be evaluating

Evolution anymore?

Viridescent fiber

Drenched in blood

From invisible spores

Halcyon entrepreneur,

Lining your vestibule door

With what’s underneath the floorboards

Beneath your plutonium king bed

Let me ask you, darling,

Would you like white or red?

How much icing

Would you like on your cake?

Inscribe the swearwords you’re splicing,

Don’t make a single mistake

How much garland

Would you like around your tattoos?

Lace each vowel with diamonds

We know to shine our own shoes.
