A Journey from Fear to Protection

No lights
Just darkness
Quietness
My body panics when the lights go out
The darkness makes me invisible to the world

Eyes watching me like a black cat
My demon inside becomes visible
While the other part of my body shuts down
But the stares haunt me
My mind has become a graveyard memory

I used to be scared by the cuts
Every time a black cat walks past me
But the black cat
The demon inside
Grabbed my hand

She showed me
The truth inside the mirror
The truth she was just protecting me
She has taught me
I can survive
Those black cats
Those eyes glowing are still there

And she's there if I need her
But for now
I told her she can rest
She took her horns off
And told me they will grow again
If you need me
