Gratitude to the Creator

During the creation dream

Well before time was born

The Creator placed Gitsegukla Gitksan to populate

From Gitsegukla peak on high to the Xsan river

Gitsegukla people wore Red and black blankets during ceremonies

Gitsegukla people praised the Creator by the customs

Gitsegukla sang and danced their gratitude

The grouse, owls, stars, frogs were their crests

Salmon was in every celebration

Red, blue, green, black or clear berries joined the celebration

While the cedar tree became bent boxes, cradles and baskets

The cottonwood became the beautiful canoes

Moose and goats came to ensure everyone was fed

While the brown and black bear wandered up and down the mountain side to protect

And beaver created swamps and creeks to flow

While all was one with the Creator and His creations

Truly a living bible keeping all commandments in all rainbow of colors
