Grasping Phantoms

a poem

By Aaron MorrisonPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read
art by me

There was a time

Where I

Now it's all

This or that

Growing stagnant

On the couch

And they're there

Somewhere

Dried out or coagulated

In a shoebox

in a closet

Here's my latest piece:

Subject to interpretation

And imagination

But I'm in debt there

So I'll just stand the novels back up

Because the bookends

Didn't fit your aesthetic

And think about the time

We went

Dinner's ready

Some beige dish

Seasoned with air

And giving notes of clean glass and quartz

And toss the rest

And turn restless

Hand finally settling

In indentation
