Memories From My Childhood

Reading Together

Those days when I was young

Ah, those remembered well

I'd sit upon my Grandma's knee

The stories she would tell:

A king whose love was just for gold

Adventures in a castle old

A fierce old lion in a tree

Oh how those days come back to me!

"Oh please, Grandma, tell it once more

The tales where gold and sunshine pour!"

Of love and stars and kings and moons

Of puppet shows, and sunlit rooms

Where flowers grow and bluebirds sing

Of sugar cookies, and more sweet things

Oh, if only to be a child once more

And again to hear the stories told

Of rainy days and moonless nights

Oh how I miss those days of old!
