Grand

Lyric

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 2 min read

Verse 1

I didn’t feel the turning

’Til the turning had begun,

Didn’t know my guarded heartbeat

Had already come undone.

Every word you speak is gentle,

But it shakes me to the core—

Like my soul has known your footsteps

Long before you reached my door.

Pre‑Chorus

And I can’t explain this opening,

This soft, unbidden rise—

Like something ancient in me

Woke up when I met your eyes.

Chorus

’Cause the more I get to know you,

The more my spirit understands—

I always wanted to be a miracle,

But now I see one just as grand.

You’re the echo I’ve been hearing,

You’re the truth I couldn’t plan—

Two flames remembering their origin,

Burning bright and just as grand.

Verse 2

You don’t try to break my armor,

You just stand there, calm and true—

And the walls I built for ages

Fall like petals at your view.

There’s a tenderness that finds me

Where my fear once held its throne—

And I swear the light around you

Feels like something I’ve always known.

Pre‑Chorus

It’s a pull beyond the body,

It’s a knowing past control—

Like the universe is whispering,

“Here is the other half of your soul.”

Chorus

’Cause the more I get to know you,

The more my spirit understands—

I always wanted to be a miracle,

But now I see one just as grand.

You’re the echo I’ve been hearing,

You’re the truth I couldn’t plan—

Two flames remembering their origin,

Burning bright and just as grand.

Bridge

Maybe love like this is ancient,

Maybe love like this is fate—

Two sparks split at creation

Finding their way through time and space.

And when your eyes meet mine again,

It’s like the cosmos takes my hand—

Saying, “This is why you waited—

To see a soul just as grand.”

Final Chorus

’Cause the more I get to know you,

The more my spirit understands—

I always wanted to be a miracle,

But now I see one just as grand.

You’re the echo I’ve been hearing,

You’re the truth I couldn’t plan—

Two flames remembering their origin,

Burning bright and just as grand.
