Grace Is Not Earned
Grace Is A Gift

The Lord was sent from God above
A sacrificial lamb
He showed the world, agape love
And called Himself, “I Am”
He bore our sins, forgave a thief
Turned water into wine
Some mocked the Lord in unbelief
While asking for a sign
He fed the masses, raised the dead
Left footprints on the sea
He bore the sins of man instead
And saved a wretch like me
He offered grace I couldn’t earn
Paid debts I couldn’t pay
Then promised us He will return
To take us all away
He told the righteous who believe
“You’ll live forevermore”
He said, “Your minds cannot conceive
Just what I have in store”
He said we’ll walk on streets of gold
Where God provides the light
There sitting on His throne, I’m told
With Jesus on His right
The many years I drifted lost
Who knows, I could have died
His grace and mercy had a cost
Since then He’s been my guide
In heaven will I recognize
The righteous, once so strong
Then wonder if I’ll realize
I truly don’t belong
