Grace

not drowning, waving!

i thought i'd had it tough

until i heard your tragic tale

i thought i was close to seeing it all

now all i wanna do is wail

my tears won't take your pain away

that's a power i don’t possess

they may show that i truly care

and accept your beautiful mess

it's become so simply complicated

you lift me up i bring me down

i smile when i think of you

the best way to be rid of a frown

i reel from clarified to confused

in rolling waves of joy and sadness

you showed me your bare humanity

and you let me taste your madness

a mixture of shock, shame and sympathy

rolls through me like a wave

if you want i’m here to help

help us both be brave

in the fiery depths of your reveal

i felt your world touch mine

i want to hold you, kiss your forehead

and whisper everything will be fine
