The universe used to spill in through my window at night.
And wake me with stars, shining so bright. It told me of tales too tall to believe in and of secrets so small I could hardly conceive em'.
The universe used to spill in through my window at night.
And whisper to me stories of wonder and fright. It showed me the stars, the planets, and more. It taught me of ancient fables and lore.
The universe used to spill in through my window at night.
And sing me to sleep before it got bright. Using a voice much louder than a snore that always left me wanting for more. A wonderful, musical, cacophony that started with sounds as small as a bee.
Sometimes, I still go to my window at night to look out and up at the marvelous sight. I wonder aloud at how something so big, so large, and discordant, could make me, a kid, feel so very important.
But it did.
